XTOPIA website designers and developers are recommended to follow the following guidelines to gain the best website traffic and performance.

Domain & SSL

  1. SSL is a must. Make sure SSL supports both www and non-www

  2. Pick either www or non-www for main URL (google the domain if you are not, refer to the screencap below, ximnet.com.my has www but affnhwangam.com does not)

  3. Test all 4 URLs, make sure they are redirecting back to the URL with SSL and the domain URL you have picked in step 2 (example below):

SEO

  1. Use descriptive homepage title
    Optimal length: 60 characters (can put longer)
    Output format: [Website Name] | [Homepage Title]

  2. Page title has different format
    URL: https://www.ximnet.com.my/our-stories/are-you-exceptional
    Output format: [Page Title] - [Parent Page Title] | [Website Name]
    Sample: Are You Exceptional? - Stories | XiMnet Malaysia

  3. Write page summary for better SEO
    Optimal length: 160 characters (can put longer)

  4. Example:

7. Important note: Please add Custom URL if you are changing the Homepage Title to avoid broken links

  1. XTOPIA generates the page URL automatically

  2. In case a custom URL is needed, please follow the recommendations below:

    a. Domain + URL must be shorter than 2083 characters
    b. Use human-readable text if you are not going for random shorten URL
    c. Keep URL as simple, relevant, compelling, and accurate as possible
    d. Use hyphens to separate words for readability. Should not use underscores, spaces or any other characters
    e. Use lowercase letters

Social Network Share

  1. Website Thumbnail & Page Thumbnail should be larger than 600 x 335 px and smaller than 1 MB, recommended size:
    2. Facebook: 1200 x 628 (ratio: 1.91:1, minimum: 600 x 314 px)
    Twitter: 1200 x 675 (ratio: 16:9, minimum: 600 x 335 px)
    LinkedIn: 1200 x 627 (ratio: 1.91:1, minimum width: 200px)

    XTOPIA suggestion: 1200 x 675 px for Website Thumbnail, 1280 x 720 px for Page Thumbnail

    Twitter will show full size image (16:9), Facebook and LinkedIn will crop the top & bottom to fit 1.91:1 (1280 x 670 px)

3. Twitter: go to https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator. Twitter will show full image if size larger than 1200px

4. LinkedIn: go to https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector

5. Subpage title will not include [Website Name] on social network
